The jackets, inspired from military uniforms, are at the heart of the collection, and are worked in leather as if cracked over time, but also with an incredible lightness in transparent leather. Rick adds twisted and draped t-shirts in pastel tones. And what to say about the hairstyles shaped like a long tunnel on the face? The designer defined them as a narrow vision of a man since the woman’s always allows her to be free…
Rick Owens Interview:
I was thinking about American military m-65 field jackets, and why I keep seeing them, and why they keep looking relevant and cool. Military uniforms are all about making a man looking as dignified and heroic as possible, and they’ve been perfecting them over the years and generations and generations of conflict. But this jacket also became a counter-cultural symbol afterwards because they were worn as a sign of protest. There’s a transparent leather that I wish I’d invented, but I didn’t. I feel that men have more of a narrow fielded vision than women, and they have a focus and are very goal orientated, I know am, this is my analysis of myself and it’s kind of like how can I get what I want?
